I am 17 years old.Ill be 18 in February.I got my permit..finally!I was supposed to get my license and a car in February because it would have been six months that I would have my license and my dad was going to help me get a car.Anyway about a month ago I was in a parking lot in my little town called Oran..Missouri.I was backing up and bumped this chicks light out.I barely bumped this car and of course I turned around to see if I had damaged it and I couldnt see any dints or anything so I drove away.If I would have I would have never drove away..but I did and the cops came and picked me up and took me to the car I had hit and her lights were on the ground where I was not looking.I went to the Benton police station and they let me go home with a fine.I had a court date and went and had another fine. They told me to come back to court. Its not time yet..Well just a few days ago I was driving my mothers car home in the rain from the bar and I was on the right Side of the road but in the wrong lane I was on the right lane making a left turn..I was in a hurry to get home and I wont lie I have the feet and hands to drive but not the mind..Its like directions and rules..I just like to drive. It isnt just that I Can use my mind to drive right I just havent driven enough I guess.Anyway a man hit the drivers side and I fucked my moms car.The finder is messed up and the steering is messed up and you can only go 25mph..Ok well I got three tickets. One for no license, one for no insurance and one for of course, no seat belt. Now Ive had two accident in less than a month I guess and I just need to know what is going to happen to me.Im pretty sure ill go to jail for a little while but what Im really worried about is not getting my license.I need to know everything anyone can tell me about this.I have a two year old and I cant live where I am living anymore. Its hell and without a vehicle I cant get a job and without a job I cant have a home. Please someone let me know all you can.I would highly appriciate it.I know nothing about law.

The only one I see if the leaving the scene of an accident. But you said you already got a ticket for that.

since you obviously just got your license and have had such a bad string of luck, I dont think you will go to jail, but usually, states work on a point system. A different point amount for this, a different point amount for that….Get the idea? AND if you get a certain amount of points on your license, the license is then suspended for a certain amount of time. THAT will probably be what is going to happen to you, not jail. I really dont think jail, but being tied to much court fines, fees and everything Motor Vehicles is going to put on you and your local courts, THAT is really going to be a bitch…very painful financially. And forget getting insurance within a good payment amount. That will follow you for several years until it is removed from your license.

Sorry to be sooo glim here dude, but that is the way it is. If you feel you just are not a good driver, then dont drive. Or you are going to continue to have these accidents and maybe someday, someone, even you, might actually get hurt.

Join the military as soon s you graduate High School.

Gives you a job, a home, and maybe you can learn to drive big trucks.

If you have a learners permit, do you not need a licensed driver with you? It would appear that you do, because you were cited for no operators. The vehicle that you were driving belonged to your parents, and I don’t understand why there was no insurance on it, but in my state a conviction for no insurance would suspend your license for 90 days – and – also the owner’s license for 90 days. Points are taken from your drivers license for moving violations, so you need to check with your DMV to find out how many points you are allow on a permit. And, check with them about what delay these points would cause on your getting your license. I do not know your criminal laws for the violations that you are charged with, and what jail time they carry. You can access your motor vehicle code, and find out what jail time (if any) the charges carry.

If Missouri is anything like Virginia your eligibility for a license will probably be suspended for at least six months and you will get another fine. You also may not be able to get a license until your fine and restitution are paid. It will help you in court if you give the judge a certificate showing that you have successfully completed a driving course.

The law says you can’t drive without a license. I cannot believe that you are not aware of that.

Dear Hannah,

It is more than the law you know nothing about. You know nothing of responsibility by driving without a license. You know noting about taking care of yourself by driving without a seat belt. You know nothing nor care about public responsibility by driving without insurance.

Bottom line you are headed to be heavily fined. You will have to learn to find a bus or a willing friend to drive you. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO JAIL which might be an otherwise good wake-up call to your maternal responsibility. You may lose your right to drive for several years.

You are a baby with a baby…. I hope your parents can be supportive for the two of you. You would be best off in school to improve your and your child’s future.

Get the chip off your shoulder and make the best of hell… It is a matter of your own creation and you brought a child into this world to share your circumstances. Live with it and try to make the world better for your child. If you do not or cannot, your child would be better off adopted.

You will not appreciate this advice but unless you follow it, your life will continue its downhill path. I do not want that for you or your child. I truly suspect your parents share my belief
which is why they likely play a role in your private hell.

But if you are going to take your private hell out onto the public streets where you can inflict serious injury or damage to other people’s life’s or property, you will deserve all that you have coming.

With or without a child your life stage is hell! Education is your only defense mechanism. Working fast food or hotel cleaning for your lifetime is another hell onto itself. You still have choices. Each choice has a price attached. Choose wisely….

As you are a danger to the public and don’t seem to care, and won’t even carry insurance to pay for the harm you cause, I hope that you spend considerable time in jail and that you are banned from driving for life. However, I do not know if that is likely because you didn’t mention what state or country you live in and the traffic laws vary by state and country.
