So… I posted this in the cell phones, and had no luck. I don’ t know if it’s the computer or the phone… but here goes….

1. I am running 2.2 UNROOTED. I’ve never tried to root the Android either.
2. I have the dumb VCAST Manager crap installed which, if i remember correctly, also installs the drivers for HTC to my computer.
3. I am running windows Vista… (incase that matters)

here goes, My HTC Incredible is not mounting as a disk drive to my computer. the pop-up window that used to come up on my phone no longer does. I have checked my settings and I still have it set to ask me when I connect to a PC. The PC will charge it and recognize the phone and the SD card to charge. But, there is no way for me to mount it as a disk drive.

Also, when I plug in my phone i get a message that says TL-Bootstrap.exe is an unidentified program and it needs my permission to continue. When I hit continue, all it does is think and that’s it. Then, the computer stops thinking and nothing happens.

My phone used to connect just fine… infact I used it yesterday with my PC. All of a sudden, it’s no longer working! I have been up for HOURS upon hours trying to figure this out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated if yall can tell me how to fix this or if I am doing something wrong.

Oh, and the last two system updates for my Android did not download because I had problems with “not enough space” when i had 6GB free on the phone and 2.1GB free on the SD card. I didn’t know if that would have something to do with it. Please help! I can post pictures if you need em! I’ve taken plenty!

Why dont you use System Restore to restore to a point several days ago when things were working OK. It seems something has become corrupted and perhaps this will fix it.

Just on general principle, I like to delete temp files and do a disk check/defrag when things start to go wrong….

Question by frosty: How do i check what drivers I need?
This is my first time reformatting by myself. Unfortunately I don’t have any of the drivers for whats on my pc. How do i check what i need so that i can acquire them in advance. Thanks.

If yours is a branded PC then go to the manufactureres website and look for “support and downloads” or similar.

Then enter your exact model details and it should give you a list of downloadable drivers specific to your PC.

If it is not branded download “pc wizard” from the CPU-Z website (it is good and free – do a quick google) This will identify all your hardware and you can visit the various websites for the makers of the hardware.

I recently re-installed windows on my computer, because it got infected with a really nasty virus. The only disks I have for this computer are the broadband modem CD and the Windows XP CD, I need to find a driver for my motherboard so I can get the on-board sound working again. My motherboard is an ASUS M2V-MX and I tried to find a driver for it, I downloaded what I thought was the driver, but all I got was a ROM file and I don’t know what to do with it. I heard about driver detective so I tried it and to my dismay I found it wasn’t free, all it does is scan. You have to pay if you want it to download. I don’t see the point of paying when there are drivers you can download manually for free, so is there an absolotely free driver finder and downloader program out there? sorry this is kinda long.

you would get that error if your video card driver was out of date….but you didn’t list one???

but go to who ever the mfg of the card was (ati or nvidia) and grab the latest there.

Jobs stuck in print que. Cannot delete or cancel print. The only way to clear is to delete the printer and drivers then reinstall. I’ve got plenty of memory space and I supposedly have the most “up to date” drivers. HP psc1300 Series All-In-One printer.

Yep, mine does that all the time, just put a paper in and as it starts the job just click the restart button… do this for however many print jobs you sent.

Although I think the installation might be corrupt. Try downloading it once more… and install it….
Make sure you are downloading the correct driver….

Give more details about your specs and the driver you are trying to install( is it realtek driver)

It might also be that you are trying a driver which is meant for Vista or win& X86/X64 on your XP. Check for the correct operating system…

I am running windows xp service pack 2 as OS, I have zenith tv tuner card it worked fine on windows xp service pack 1 but after i upgraded my OS from service pack 1 to service pack 2 The tv tuner card doesn’t work.
