Ok so the problem is I think something dealing with TCP/IP connections here is how it goes: first of all I can web browse and all that just fine however the problem comes when I try to run programs like driver detective the error message deals with not being able to connect to their database also here’s a weird one I can sign onto my msn messanger account but not AIM when I try it says connecting and then sits there for a while and then it goes to configuring and then connection fail and another issue is I play Diablo 2 and the expansion and I play over TCP/IP and I host games or try to connect to others well I can host just fine obviously cuz it’s my own computer but I can’t connect to anyone nor can anyone connect to me I have been spending hours upon hours trying to research this issue and it’s so specific it’s damn near impossible. Oh and limewire can’t connect either it says that a firewall is blocking it or it can’t get a loopback or something and yes I checked firewall turned on and off my firewall antivirus and all that reset if anyone has any idea at all please please help me because I am just giving up
How do I check my port settings and proxy stuff could you give me a detailed run down of how to get to and change the settings and no this is from my home I am using my own laptop

Are you surfing the Web or using these features at work? You’re behind a firewall that has an opening for MSN Messenger, but not for any of these other applications. So, what you need to do is either find out what your proxy setting is, and what port is open, then put the proxy information and port information into the appropriate fields to get out of the domain and to the open Internet so that you can use these utilities, or you need to stop trying to do this from the office. Your company doesn’t want you doing this.
