Motherboard Cd? Please help.. are u good with computers?

by Drivers Utilities on May 11, 2010

I am going to get a HP pavilion a1200 i think it is and i want to do a fresh install of xp to clean out everything because its running crappy right now. it shows flash drives in MY COMPUTER, i think for the smart disk and other disks that it has drives to from like cameras and i think those should stay there when i do a fresh install. problem: i dont know if the motherboard drivers will be easy to find with the automatic finder from windows when i get SP2 or will i have to open it up and search for them manually? i haven’t delt with hp computers before but i know Dell’s are a pain in the butt but i dont know about HP. i have a motherboard support cd that contains chipset drivers of a motherboard and everytime i do a fresh install of any computer that is not customized, i use it to find the basic drivers but i was wondering if there was one that was for HP or that had its basic drivers in it or if there was somewhere that i could download them… contact me: young_ronnie_10@hotmail.com

There are very few motherboards which will have items for which Windows XP will not have a driver. You should be fine.

You can go to the HP site and download the latest drivers for your PC…put them on a disc and use it when windows asks for them.

Best practice:
Go to http://www.hp.com and download them BEFORE you start the wipe and reinstall.
