yes i decided to do a disk clean up and i guess i lost my adio driver and maybe codecs. i think the driver is gone although in device manager it says its there but location is unknown also says unknown for codecs. im thinking disk clean up deleted everything in the files but not the files themselves so device manager believes they are there. i cant even delete the driver in device manager cuz it says its needed for my computer to function. i went to windows update which wasnt smrt cuz i updated an optional driver thing thinking it would fix it but now i realize windows update would just think the driver was there like device manager so now i got this second driver or enhancment to my sound driver that still dosent produce sound. at first it was that i couldnt hear sounds from iternet movies mainly but i discovered that i can play with microsoft sam speech and hear it, so now im really confused, does antone know how to fix this or restore my computer to this morings settings?
okay th eonly answer o got u said to format, unfortunatley my computer came with xp installed, so i dont have the disks to do it otherwise by now id be good, trust me spending a day on this isnt fun, is there a command i can enter to restore my computer to like a day to a week ago?

Good Day…..try to back up all your important files and format your hard drive……and install a fresh windows….sometimes when you trouble shoot you are confused on what to do and for your problem the easiest approached is to install a fresh windows….provided you have all the necessary drivers for your hardware peripherals…..
