Well, about 2 weeks after Sims 3 came out, I got it. But it’s not working on my computer!! HELP?

Oh yeah, and the program I used to help was called Uniblue DriverScanner
Well I have Windows Vista Home Premium (i think) and when i first put in the CD it wouldn’t recognize it was there. It wasn’t autoplaying and it wasn’t on My Computer. Then I used this program which apparently should help, and it did, a bit. Each time I put it in it would work for about 5 minutes then just exit out of the game and it would say my hard drive has crashed but has been repaired or something. Sometimes it would work for 10 minutes and sometimes less. I bought it at full price at the beginning and it’s such a waste if i don’t use it!! Also, when I tried it on my cousin’s and friend’s windows xp computers it worked completely, but when I tried it on my other cousin’s really new windows vista computer it didn’t even show up on the My Computer area. She also recently told me she bought it herself and it still isn’t working.
Is there a problem with it playing on Vista???! HELP!

Try this:

Go to the .exe shortcut for the Sims 3 [In your desktop or wherever it is], right click > Properties > Compatibility > click the box where it says “Run this program in compatibility mode for” > Windows XP (Service Pack 2) > Apply/OK.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Make sure you have the newest drivers for your video card and Vista Service Pack updates installed. I can help you find the proper drivers if it’s an Nvidia card you have on your laptop.
